Magali Amadei was born in 1974 in Nice, France. Her stunning physical appearance landed her work as a fashion model at a young age. She achieved international recognition after doing cover work in publications such as Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan and Vogue.

Magali has also been adding with increasing frequency to her repertoire of acting credits. Comparisons to Sophia Loren and Ava Gardner prompted her to take acting lessons and pursue the craft as a serious career. In the HBO pilot, The Mind of a Married Man, she played a computer consultant moonlighting as a prostitute by night.

The exotic beauty has starred in two off-Broadway plays, A Matter of Dispute and Fiesta Wear. The roles led to a brief appearance in The Wedding Planner, with Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Lopez. Followers of Magali were shocked to see her curvaceous figure covered up with a pregnant suit, which was required for her character.

Over a seven-year span that encompassed many prosperous years as a fashion model, Magali Amadei battled with bulimia. She was 19 when she first began to binge and purge, ravaged by doubt and insecurity about her appearance. Today, Magali can admit to being a victim of an industry that rewards thinness.

Having beaten her demons, Magali is now vocal about her fight. She has appeared on 20/20, Entertainment Tonight, Good Morning America, and in several newspapers and magazines to speak out about the horrors of eating disorders. As a result, Magali has become a pioneer in a business that is notorious for secrecy.

She is, in fact, the first top female model to speak out about her personal battle, and was recruited by The American Anorexia Bulimia Association to educate susceptible youngsters.
