PETER GOLDMARK
Peter Goldmark is the director of the Climate and Air Program at Environmental
Defense, a non-profit environmental research and advocacy organization based in
New York City.
Before working at Environmental Defense, Mr. Goldmark served as Chairman and
Chief Executive Officer of the International Herald Tribune from 1998 to 2003.
From June 1988 to December 1997, he was the President of The Rockefeller
Foundation in New York City. Prior to that appointment, he was Senior Vice
President for Eastern Newspapers for the Los Angeles-based Times Mirror Company.
Before joining the Times Mirror Company in 1985, Mr. Goldmark served for eight
years as Executive Director of The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
From 1975 to 1977, he was Director of the Budget for the State of New York.
Mr. Goldmark is a graduate of Harvard University. He is also presently a member
of the Board of Directors of Lend Lease Corporation and the Whitehead Institute
for Biomedical Research.
