Hilary Beth Henkin (born November 19, 1962, New Orleans, Louisiana) is an                 
American screenwriter and producer, nominated for both a Golden Globe and an             
Academy Award in 1997 for her work on the screenplay of Wag the Dog. The                 
screenplay was originally credited to David Mamet until the Writers Guild of             
America intervened on Henkin's behalf to see that Henkin was credited for                 
devising the structure of the screenplay, which she adapted from Larry Beinhart's         
novel American Hero. Her other screenplays include V for Vendetta (2006) (UNCREDITED),   
Romeo Is Bleeding (1993), Road House (1989), Lost Angels (1989), Fatal Beauty (1987),     
Flowers in the Attic, Blue Heaven, Prisoners (1981), and Headin' for Broadway (1980).     
During the 1970s, she worked as a go-go dancer in New York City.
