Joy was born in the capital city of St Lucia, Castries, but grew up in the small fishing village of Canaries, situated on the west coast of the island. It is an island of spectacular scenery, golden sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise waters. Having completed her education Joy is currently employed as a laboratory technician and teacher at a secondary school, it is her ambition to continue her studies in Chemistry and Biochemistry as a basis to move on to a career in Forensic Science.
Joy enjoys looking after her eight pet fish and her cat named Whisky; listening to Jazz as it uplifts her soul and she like the unusual rhythms and spontaneity of this type of music. She also has a passion for Art and a special talent for drawing and painting. Favourite food is a local dish of breadfruit and salt fish prepared with a sauce made from coconut milk and local seasoning peppers. Her motto is “Satisfy your inner child".
