Uma Bharati is a firebrand leader. Born on May 3,1959 at Dunda district of Madhya Pradesh, she couldn’t finish her education. Later she joined the Bhartiya Janata Party.

       

In 1988, Uma became Vice-President of Madhya Pradesh Bhartiya Janata Party. Bharati was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1989. She was appointed as the member of Consultative Committee of Ministry of Agriculture. She was also a member of the Public Consultative Committee. In 1991, Uma was re-elected to the Lok Sabha. Later she became the President of B. J.P. youth wing.

       

She again entered the Lok Sabha in 1998 and became the Union Minister. She is known for her strong views. Her role during the Babri Masjid demolition was controversial. She is currently the President of the Madhya Pradesh B.J.P., and has taken part in many social activities. She is a religious woman, who is still unmarried. Her interests include reading books and traveling.
