GANTI MOHANA CHANDRA BALAYOGI
       

Ganti Mohana Chandra Balayogi was the youngest speaker of the  Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. He was born on October 1, 1951 in the tiny village of Yedurulanka in Andhra Pradesh. His father Ganniyya was a farmer. Balayogi had his primary education at Gutterandivi village. He completed his collegiate education at Kakinada  before moving on  to  the Andhra  University where  he pursued post graduation in Political Science and graduation in Law.

       

Political Recognition and responsibility came to him early enough when he took over as the Vice-Chairman of the Cooperative Town Bank of Kakinada in 1986. In 1987, he was elected as the Chairman of the East Godavari Zilla Praja Parishad. He was elected to the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991. Soon, he was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1998, Balayogi was elected as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. He performed well while in the office. He died aged 51 in a helicopter crash on March 4, 2002.
