Digvijay Singh is among the handful of young politicians in India, who have a vision, the political will and the ability to face the challenges of the new century, and to shape the destiny of India. He was born on February 28, 1947 in the royal family of Raghogarh principality in the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. He received an engineering degree from the G.S. Institute of Technology, Indore. He is an avid sportsperson with a particular interest in cricket, tennis and squash.
Digvijay Singh entered politics at a young age of 24. His organizational and leadership skills brought him among the higher leadership of Congress Party. From 1980 to 1984, he was a Cabinet Minister in the ministry of Arjun Singh. He is the longest serving Chief Minster in the history of Madhya Pradesh.
