MARGARET CARLSON

In 1988 Carlson left her position as managing editor of The New Republic, a liberal political magazine, to become a reporter at Time magazine, eventually being named a White House correspondent. In 1994 Carlson became Time's first woman columnist, writing the  “Public Eye” column. Since 1993 she has also been a regular panelist on CNN's The Capital Gang.
