RUSH

Canadian-based progressive band that combined new song structures with fantasy-based lyrics to make hit singles during the 1970s. Rush formed in 1969 in Sarnia, Ontario and developed a following after releasing albums like Fly By Night (1976) and Permanent Waves (1980). The band released 23 consecutive gold and platinum albums, making them one of the successful bands in music history. Rush is now strongly associated with hit singles like “Tom Sawyer” and “New World Man”. Members include: Geddy Lee, bass; Alex Lifeson, guitar; Neil Peart, drums; and former member John Rutsey, drums
