Javed Akhtar was born to Jan Nisar Akhtar and many of his songs from movies like ‘Silsile’, ‘Mr India ‘, ‘Saagar’, ‘Tezaab’, ‘1942- A Love Story’ became chartbusters. Akhtar has won Filmfare awards ten times. He has also been honoured with the Padma Shri by the President of India in 1999.
