Somebre, yet sharp, poetic yet down-to-earth, serene yet bubbling with infectious energy, Javed Akhtar can be called an all rounder in a ral sense - a poet, a scriptwriter, a melody maker, the list is endless.

       

Javed Akhtar was born to Jan Nisar Akhtar and many of his songs from movies like ‘Silsile’, ‘Mr India ‘, ‘Saagar’, ‘Tezaab’, ‘1942- A Love Story’ became chartbusters. His number Ek do teen ‘ from ‘Tezaab’ created tipples worldwide, and for about two years, it was like a national mantra ripples wordwide, and for about two years, it was like a national mantra axross the country. Akhtar has won Filmfare awards ten times. He has also been honoured with the Padma Shri by the President of India in 1999. Javed Akhtar is the first poet of city life and urban culture in Urdu literature.
