Born and brought up in Kolkata, Alka Yagnik had a flair for music from her very childhood. She underwent rigorous music training from a very early age under a number of teachers.
She started singing shamans for the Kolkata Radio at the age of six. In the beginning, singing was just a hobby for her, but as success and popularity came along, she started her towards fame was ‘Eke Do Teen’ from the film ‘Tezaab’.
